The SoWa (short for "South of Washington") Art + Design District is a lively community made up of artist studios, contemporary art galleries, boutiques, design showrooms, and restaurants.
Previously known as a neglected area of warehouses in Boston's South End, the area has since experienced a "dramatic renaissance, blossoming into a world-renowned retail and arts community that includes the famous SoWa Open Market, the SoWa Vintage Market, and a fashionable residential neighborhood" (www.wikipedia.org/wiki/SoWa).
In recent years, SoWa has become a creative hub for artists and fans alike, ranking #2 in USA Today's 10 Best Art Districts in the country.
